Some of the essential nutrients that are recognized to maintain sexual health and a strong sex drive include foods rich in zinc, selenium, magnesium and omega 3s (to only name a few). Known to send blood flow to all the right places in the body, it is the pungency of spicy mustard that was identified as an libido boosting food because to its ability to create a warming sensation that releases happy endorphins and causes a rise adrenalin. Believed to stimulate the sexual glands and increase desire, the potent aphrodisiac was even banned in monasteries during the Middle Ages as it was assumed that consuming mustard would lead the men of God down the path to temptation.
